Rather than withdrawing entirely, the subject constructs an external layer that regulates contact.
The body remains exposed but becomes structurally defended.
SYMPTOMS:

-Preference for tactile boundaries between body and environment

PROGNOSIS:
Protection stabilises the organism but gradually distances sensation from direct experience.
